Hey ya’ll! Sooo…I’m 21! Yaaaaay! I turned 21 three days ago and it was such a great day. I mean–despite all the despair from election day–I had lots of fun spending time with people I love. 21 is such a milestone age; I can do virtually anything now (except rent a car, I guess lol). But it’s really exciting to finally be 21 for a number of reasons. 2016 has been a difficult year for me, to say the least. But even with all the difficulties that have come my way, I’ve made it my mission to stay positive and focus on improving myself.
To say it’s been easy would be a flat out lie. I’ve had difficulties with personal issues, school, the list goes on. However, I do my best to focus on the positive aspects of my life because it’s so easy to dwell on the negative. But nonetheless, I want to make sure that I make the best of each day as my 21-year-old self 🙂 starting with my actual birthday.
Of course, I wanted to look cute af on my birthday and I’ve had this lace-up sweater from Charlotte Russe for a couple of weeks now, so I decided to give it a try. It was a little cool on my birthday, but not so cool that I couldn’t show a little cleavage (or lack thereof, in my case). I’ve done a pretty good job so far of making my wardrobe consist of mostly neutral colors and this green is usually my go-to “pop of color”.
These H&M jeans (which have been featured on the blog before) are so form fitting and that’s one of the reasons I love them so much. I tend to shop for high-waist jeans because I like to elongate my legs and I love how the jeans cinch the waist just enough. Now let’s talk about the boots. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these block heel booties from Charlotte Russe. If the weather permits, I’ll be wearing them more often soon 😉
I haven’t completely fallen in love with the choker trend, but this choker set just might change my mind. The leather material is so edgy and simplistic which makes it super easy to style with just about any look. Plus, it’s my favorite color.
